Spend a day exploring the musician’s favorite places of his hometown.
Detroit is a behemoth of a city that “just has this way of brewing innovation,” the Motown musician offers. There’s plenty of architecture to see, food to eat, and music to hear. Aragones has picked some of his top spots that can’t be missed.
Where to stay
Out-of-towners should look to booking a stay at the boutique Hotel Trumbull & Porter in Corktown, which is like an artist’s oasis in the big city. Near unique restaurants and entertainment, the Hotel recently underwent a renovation with an appreciation for Detroit’s rich history.
Where to get satiated
“Stop by Dime Store for creative spins on traditional brunch fare and people watching.” Dig into a steaming hot bowl of noodles at Pho Lucky for lunch, and craft butchery meats at the beautiful Grey Ghost for dinner. Dime Store is located in the Chrysler House, a 23-story skyscraper in Detroit’s downtown Financial District, so there’s plenty to ogle at between bed and breakfast.
Where to stop for Instagram-worthy Content
The Skip is located in the Downtown Bricktown area and offers whimsical cocktails (from frozen to craft!) in an artful setting. “It’s a perfect spot for stocking up on Instagram content,” the singer suggests.
