Costa Mesa, California: South Coast Plaza Shopping and Beyond

Walking into South Coast Plaza feels different from entering any other shopping destination I have visited. The use of natural light and a calming indoor water feature gave me the impression that I could easily spend more than a day exploring here.

Jewel Court, with its beautiful dome, is the home of prominent designers Cartier, Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Saint Laurent, Chanel and others. What really impressed me was that so many fashion houses had a store here.

With my hands already full of shopping bags, I wandered to Carousel Court. Nestled around the beautiful carousel, I found popular shopping options such as J. Crew, Banana Republic, Disney, Lego and Sugarfina. The variety can’t be beat!

Next, I ventured into my favorite department store, Macy’s. Everywhere I looked, there was something that caught my eye – clothing, accessories, shoes and more – especially since I received a 10 percent off Visitor Savings Pass just for being an international visitor. In the cosmetics department, I received wonderful personal service and a makeover. Macy’s at South Coast Plaza truly has much to be desired, including a separate store just for men.

When I was ready for a break from shopping, I retreated to South Coast Plaza’s VIP Access Suite, a quiet, private oasis to sit, relax and regroup. The concierge checked my packages and provided me with an array of refreshments. This cozy lounge also offers a private dressing room, where shoppers can meet with a personal stylist.

Multilingual concierge services are at four locations throughout South Coast Plaza. As a visitor, I could pick up the VIP Passport, which provided me with special offers and exclusive discounts to over 100 boutiques, stores and restaurants.

South Coast Plaza also offers exceptional dining options. You can find cuisine to suit even the fussiest of palates. There are over 30 choices, several being award-winning restaurants. Upscale Italian, progressive American, authentic Chinese and Japanese, classic steakhouse are among dining options that indulge the senses and revive the diner, allowing more time for exploring.

After a full day of shopping, prepare to be wowed by the region’s amazing attractions, such as the beaches lining the pristine coastline of Orange County. A visit to Disneyland, for example, is an experience the whole family can enjoy.
