It was no surprise to me that Myrtle Beach in South Carolina offered so many fun attractions and activities since it is frequently voted as one of the top family holiday destinations in the USA.

Offering something for people of every age and taste, Myrtle Beach is truly a destination where you can find something new to do every time you visit. You will not have to worry about getting bored by your longtime favorites either.

Boardwalk Strolling, Dining and Shopping

The nearly 2-kilometer-long Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade in the heart of the downtown area is the perfect place to walk or jog as you take in the ocean views. Restaurants catering to all tastes and budgets line the boardwalk next to great shops where you can treat yourself to a souvenir or buy a gift to take home for family and friends. During the summer, you can enjoy free nightly concerts on the boardwalk as well.

Sun and Sandy Beaches

With more than 96 kilometers of beautiful beaches, Myrtle Beach is the ideal place to come and work on your tan. Be as active as you like; try kayaking, parasailing and diving, or hop on a boat for a dolphin-watching tour. If that sounds too energetic, then enjoy the beautiful weather and sounds of the gently lapping waves as you lie on the beach.

Ride High in the SkyWheel

With enclosed, temperature-controlled gondolas, the SkyWheel offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean coastline and is not to be missed. Visit in the evening to see the SkyWheel brighten the sky with its light show that features more than 1 million LED lights. The changing colors are a gorgeous sight to see.

Entertainment at Broadway at the Beach

Next, enjoy more than 141 hectares of shopping, dining, activities and nightlife, including several venues to dance the night away, at nearby Broadway at the Beach. At this lively spot, you can lie on a bed of nails and ride a virtual roller coaster at WonderWorks interactive science museum, visit the sharks at Ripley’s Aquarium, ride a zipline, drive bumper cars and watch a film at the cinema. Seeing the frenzy of the fish as you feed them off the boardwalk is also a fun experience.
