Logan, Utah: Come Discover Your Own Adventure

Escape to Logan, Utah, a year-round wonderland for adventurers and families of all ages. From award-winning arts to hands-on Western heritage and easy access to endless outdoor activities, Logan has got it all.

Located an easy 90-minute drive north of Salt Lake City – just off the beaten path and you’ll like it that way – Logan is also just four hours from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and five hours away from most of Utah’s National Parks.

You can mountain bike, canoe, fish, bird watch, hike ski, snowmobile, horseback ride and rock climb in the forest within a five-minute drive from downtown. Logan Canyon National Scenic Byway boasts dramatic limestone cliffs and forested canopies on the way to the breathtaking turquoise waters of Bear Lake.

The city of Logan is home to Utah State University, a dozen art galleries and specialty shops, great examples of early Mormon pioneer architecture, and the stunning 1923 Ellen Eccles Theatre, home of the renowned Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre and other nationally touring productions.

Visit the American West Heritage Center, a 160-acre living history museum. Experience the Old West and learn about Native Americans, mountain men, farmers and pioneers. Take a wagon or pony ride, throw hatchets, make arts and crafts, and listen to stories and music and more.

During the winter, you can take a sleigh or wagon ride through a herd of up to 600 elk at Hardware Ranch Elk Refuge. Hit the slopes at Beaver Mountain Ski Resort, the longest running family-owned ski resort in the nation. There are plenty of runs for all skill levels, and the friendly skiers feel like family.

At Beaver Creek Lodge, you can walk straight out of your cozy room and jump on a snowmobile. Bring your gear or rent it all here. Take a guided tour or venture on your own across more than 300 miles of groomed trails in some of the best snowmobiling in the United States.

Springtime is beautiful and summer is loaded with activity. Our arts scene is smoking hot with repertory theatre performances starting in June, free concerts at the historic Tabernacle Monday through Friday all summer and a spectacular fireworks show and concert July 3.

The award-winning Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre opens July 8-Aug. 8. More than 300 performers straight from New York and Broadway present famed works such as La Boheme, Man of La Mancha, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Carousel along with concerts, backstage tours, breakfast with the stars and academy classes.

You’ll be treated to festivals, pancake breakfasts, hiking, biking, golfing (on beautiful courses with astoundingly affordable greens fees), shopping and everything in between.

Logan is an ideal hub for day trips to Bear Lake, Golden Spike National Monument, and Chesterfield Ghost Town. Visit the website listed below for more info, a calendar of events and downloadable brochures.
