Gillette and Wright lie in the “Energy Capital of the Nation" between two of our country's most treasured sites, Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Yellowstone National Park. These communities also rest between two of the West's most enchanting mountain ranges, the Bighorns and Black Hills. Devils Tower, our nation's first National Monument, is an hour west. Thunder Basin National Grasslands, a wildlife mecca, provides additional opportunities for recreation, including hiking, sightseeing, hunting, and fishing. The coal from the Powder River Basin in Campbell County powers much of our nation. Take a summer mine tour to one of the largest surface mines. Our area is a land of wide-open spaces, brilliant blue skies and some of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet.

Being the largest city in northeastern Wyoming, Gillette’s shopping is outstanding in historic downtown and throughout Gillette. Shop unique boutiques, and the many shopping centers throughout the city. Fine dining and excellent accommodations are available. Try one of two of our local breweries for some locally made beer and other delectables.

CAM-PLEX Multi-Events Center, is the largest of its kind west of the Mississippi. Here you will see live performances, Broadway plays, a symphony, concerts with some of your favorite performers, rodeo year-round, and hockey or roller derby.

Experience the Rockpile and Centennial museums displaying the history of ranching, coal mining and the people that made Campbell County what it is today. Enjoy one of the many local parks or Avenues of Art sculpture displays throughout town. Gillette and Wright both have new Recreation Centers, and Gillette’s is equipped with a miniature Devils Tower climbing wall, two pools, and a field house complete with indoor tennis courts, running track and much more making for a great workout.

Experience Gilette’s remarkable planetarium, only one of four in the world with the latest technology that displays more than 8,000 stars and heavenly bodies. You won’t easily forget this experience.

Travel to Wright and Durham Buffalo Ranch. Take a tour of one of the largest buffalo ranches in America. After the tour, enjoy a BBQ with all the fixin's!

Take a scenic driving tour: the wildlife natural history loop tours or Shamrock motorcycle tours. Try bird watching at Dalby Park, or experience Keyhole State Park for swimming and fishing or outdoor activities.

On a tamer level, play a round or two of golf at one of our fine courses. There are even two “folf”, or Frisbee golf, courses for those of you that throw Frisbees.

Abundant natural resources, premier facilities and free activities are waiting for you in Gillette and Wright!
