Boston, Massachusetts: Enjoying the Many Beautiful Views
There’s so much to love about Boston, Massachusetts, from delicious gourmet food and fun nightlife, to iconic American history sites and diverse cultural venues. And with the seemingly limitless restaurants, bars and nightclubs throughout the town, Boston will certainly keep you entertained.
I could not wait to explore this exciting town. From the beautiful harbour boats to the breath-taking Boston skyline, everywhere I turned gave me a new view of the city. Here are my top picks for great views and great fun in Boston.
Views of Boston Harbor, Seaport District
There’s nothing more pleasant than patio dining while watching boats on the water. Along the South Boston waterfront on the Boston Harbor, the Seaport District will make such a dream come true. I was able to enjoy a very relaxing lunch looking at the sail boats and fishing boats that floated on the shiny water reflecting the sun above. After my stomach was satisfied, I took a walk along the path by the water. Feeling the salt water breeze, it was a very pleasant walk after an equally pleasant meal. The setting with the water and boats in the back made for so many pretty pictures.
People Watching, Boylston Street & Newbury Street
Boylston Street and Newbury Street are indeed happening. Day or night, weekday or weekend, they’re always filled with people. It is a place where you can wander around with no specific goal or destination and still have a fulfilling day. Almost all the restaurants have outside seating, so if people-watching is your idea of a great view, you’ll find it in this popular spot.
The Boston Skyline on a Duck Tour
There are lots of places to get a nice photo of the Boston skyline, but I highly recommend doing a Duck Tour. What is a Duck Tour, you ask? It’s an entertaining tour of the city in a World War II-style amphibious vehicle. The excursion is as unique as the vehicle you take it in! You’ll see all of the city’s most recognizable, historic and notable landmarks, and the tour operator (humorously called a conDUCKtor) will provide interesting facts along the way.
The most exciting part of the tour is when the “duck” drives right into the Charles River! Get your camera ready to get a great shot of the Cambridge and Boston skylines. This is such a fun and unique way to view the city.
View of the Charles River Along the Esplanade
Stretching for three miles along the famed Charles River, Boston’s Esplanade is the perfect way to enjoy the city’s main waterway. If you’re wanting to spend some time outdoors, there are a ton of fun things to do here. Rent a boat, walk, jog or bike, take the kids to one of the playgrounds, bring a picnic, play tennis or work the exercise course. The Esplanade also hosts many activities and concerts for visitors of all ages.
If you’re looking for an unforgettable vacation with endless views, Boston will suit you well.
