As is true with many top chefs, Patrick Gharrity's love of food started early. Born and raised in rural Ohio, he grew up eating beautiful, healthy food made from scratch in his mother's kitchen. While working on a fine arts degree, Gharrity worked his way up from dishwasher to prep cook, line cook, kitchen manager, sous chef and even pastry chef. As executive chef at La Casa Sena, he has led this Santa Fe, New Mexico, institution to award-winning status. His secrets? Creatively reinterpreting classical dishes; building and supporting a team that produces food under his direction every day; and supporting the community through a commitment to buying and featuring local ingredients.
